Hi and welcome to our blog!

Social Learning is fast becoming recognized as a valuable way of supporting formal learning and enabling informal learning within an organization. The use of online communities and networks, where employees are encouraged to co-create content, collaborate, share knowledge and fully participate in their own learning, is helping to create far more enduring learning experiences.

As the recession bites, organizations will continuously be cutting costs, but it will be important to look back and learn from the lessons of the past; that is, not to revert to a content-centric view of e-learning, but to move forward and embrace the new web tools to create a more collaborative, flexible, social learning environment and, at the same time, do more with less.

Now is the time to be even more creative with managing talent. Look for ways to continue to improve the skills of employees. Keep up on the latest tips, technologies, and trends.

  2. I have long believed that Blogging is an excellent tool for broadcasting information and sharing knowledge. While most industry attention centers around external blogs as tools for reaching customers, influential bloggers, and the media, many companies use internal blogs for a number of purposes, including leadership communications, sharing of best practices within engineering and product development communities, and as a way to give all employees a voice within the company.

With regards to teaching and learning opportunities Blogs can do the following:
    - Used as an informational/instructional resource.
    - For FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)and training session updates.
    - As a tool for learners to establish their own journals, portfolios and personal reflections for presentation to their managers, trainers, and peers.
    - A course/subject journal compiled over the period of delivery with course/workshop related reflections.
    - To showcase personal works and achievements (I use it to showcase the latest IT Certifications my EEs receive)
    - To contribute to a wider body of knowledge (i.e. people from beyond your provider can benefit from reading your blog)
    - As a class/workshop portal where learners can access supplemental materials, curriculum, links, videos, podcasts, homework, assessment task and other peer/trainer feedback
    - As an ongoing content where materials and resources can be archived online for easy locating in the future.

  3. Many companies now hire through social media sites for online jobs. I think there will be a lack of something of having no talent management before hiring. DISC profile | Disc test
